The media could not be loaded. Wow I didn't expect this humidifier to work so well! Just look at our video.I have three other humidifiers (a different brand) for smaller rooms in our home. We purchased this one for a large room, and Consumer Reports magazine recommended this unit as their top pick for large rooms. Unlike the other three, we can actually SEE the mist coming out of this unit, and it works SO much better than the other three. Some observations, pro and con:- Easiest of our 4 humidifiers to refill with water- No filter needed and GREAT mist output (see attached video & pic)- Automatic on/off humidity settings or continuously on- I was expecting to place it on the floor but it recommends to have it 2 feet above floor- 1.3 gallon tank lasts about 2 days for us if set at 45% humidity on medium fan (low-medium-high)- They recommend distilled water, but we're using tap water, which is allowable but will require more tedious cleaning at some point- Warm vs cool mist settings, although the so-called "warm" is barely discernible- 360 degree dual spinning nozzle to aim the mist in 2 different directions- AMAZINGLY quiet. Two thumbs up! We might actually get another one and retire one of the others that we have that is too noisy and not as effective.
The unit works well, is simple to use, and is very quiet, but there are two issues. One is that the "warm" mist is barely different from the "cool" mist. The other is that the humidity reading is wildly inaccurate. In the photo you can see that I've got three other sensors next to the humidifier, and they read 33, 33, and 27% -- but the humidifier reads 59%. Over a couple of weeks, I've observed that the humidifier reads 20-30 points higher than actual humidity. That's a laughable discrepancy but I can easily overcome it: if I want 40% humidity, I can simply set the unit for 70% humidity.(Two more very minor observations: The promised cleaning brush was not included. The images say that it "easily fills at sink or tub" but you should only use distilled water in any humidifier and not many of us have a distilled water tap in our tub. 😄 )
The Lasko UH300 Humidifier is used in our living room. The pic provided displays level 2 of 3 adjustable levels. It sets on a TV tray in the living room and there have been no signs of wetness or discoloration! The water tank does not leak. Refilling it we use the carrying handle and carry the tank to our kitchen. Our home has well water with an in home water softener. We refill the tank water supply using our 2 gallon Pur water filter container that sits on the counter. The UH300 humidifier is super QUIET. For us, living out in the country with a woodstove that dries out the air, this has been a perfect fit!
Well, it was almost returned since an important part was thought missing--cleaning brush. We found it attached to the bottom of the tank. Usually, small part items are packaged in a cellophane/plastic pouch. We found this "missing" part, filled the tank and tried it and liked it. The only challenge is finding distilled water available on store shelves--some shortage I learned on the Internet. After many, searches, distilled water source was finally located and I was able get them without considering a water company delivery. I'm using close to a gallon a day if it's run throughout the day. I am usually shutting it off when I leave the room for extended length of time.
This was an Amazon returned (?) product, and therefore, a reduced price . It was missing a small cleaning brush, which was disappointing. However, I do like the way humidifier performs so far. The instructions are a little vague, but I'm sure I will figure it out. I like the ease of filling the tank and the capacity. I would buy this product again.
This highly recommended humidifier's manual clearly states that one should use only distilled water in the tank. This is not stated in Amazon's description. I am returning the item because the humidistat is faulty and registers 20 points too high, thus the unit does not turn on when set at 45%. However, I am not willing to lung home gallons of distilled water or pay for a distiller and distill my own on a daily basis..
The humidifier is very quiet and humidifies well, but it leaves white mineral dust everywhere unless you want to spend the money for a gallon of distilled water every couple of days. The water tank is awkward and drips on the floor when removing, filling and replacing.
I am extremely happy with this humidifier. I have four others, other brands, that were more expensive that don't quite meet the standards that this humidifier does. There is not really any noticeable noise. The only time I have noticed any at all is when I choose the warm heat option and it's just the sound of the water heating up. It does a great job of monitoring the humidity level and and responding appropriately. I also like the fact that even without looking at the manual it is not hard to figure out the "buttons". And I love the sleep feature. By having the ability to turn off any backlighting combined with the nearly silent operation it is perfect for my bedroom.Great value for a great product
I have had this unit for a week. It is the quietest humidifier I have ever had. However, my issues: 1. the tank is smaller than my other humidifiers and so has to be refilled too often. 2. the opening is really to small to get your hand inside to clean. 3. when filling, the unit must be turned upside down, but this places it on the diffuser nozzle so it is not stable in the sink. 4. After filling there is no handle on the bottom to help you flip a slippery heavy tank. There is a nice, but flimsy, handle on the top to carry it from sink. 5. There are really no operating instructions included except a one pager that describes the display, but not how to operate the unit. 6. To change the humidity setting you push a button multiple time in 5% increments. What happened to analog controls? My 20+ year old Toshiba KA501DE1 that this replaces had all those features except it had a very tiny fill opening.
We thought this humidifier was great while it lasted which was 13 months. We didn’t even use it consecutively but stored it until we were ready to used it again.
